Dubai Investment Development Agency (Dubai FDI), an agency of Dubai Economy, has announced that it has achieved a significant milestone in supporting Samsung Gulf Electronics in its endeavor to enhance its presence and customer experience in the UAE.

Fahad Al Gergawi, CEO of Dubai FDI, termed the partnership with Samsung Gulf Electronics as a remarkable chapter in the region’s development. He added that Samsung joins a growing number of multinationals looking at Dubai as an ideal hub to export technology innovations and expand their footprint in delivering cutting edge customer experience.  

“Innovation is at the heart of the UAE Vision 2021, while the Dubai Plan 2021 emphasises on a smart city of creative and happy people. Overall, the development strategies being adopted in the UAE and across the region provides a significant opportunity for game changing innovations and experience. Samsung has transformed electronics and communications technology with innovations and customer experiences that continue to substantially enhance quality of living and ease of doing business,” Al Gergawi said.

Al Gergawi added that the strong preference for Dubai as a regional gateway among global technology leaders like Samsung validated the FDI (foreign direct investment) trends captured in the Dubai FDI monitor, a first of its kind. City based analysis of FDI inflows done by Dubai FDI.

“FDI pattern for the first quarter of the year showed that 69% of FDI projects attracted into Dubai involved High/Medium Technology and accounted for 24.3% of the total FDI into the emirate. It shows that Dubai has the infrastructure and vision to support the sustainable growth of businesses of all sizes. Together Samsung and Dubai can create synergy in developing solutions that reinforce Dubai as a digital economy as well as a preferred place to live and do business,” added Al Gergawi.
