Pennsylvania man, an alleged rape suspect, arrested in Watertown

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - The U.S. Marshals Service arrested a Pennsylvania man in Watertown who they say is an alleged rape suspect.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Jonathan Astacio, 31, of Reading, Pennsylvania, was wanted by the Muhlenberg Township Police Department for the rape of a child.

Astacio was located at 519 Mundy Street and arrested.

“Mr. Astacio posed a danger to our community. We have captured him with the assistance of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. We wish to thank both the community and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in this case,” said David McNulty, the U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of New York.
