CIVILIAN officers could soon be policing Bromley's streets.
Councillors Tim Stevens and Alexa Michael have drawn up proposals to bid for community street wardens.
The initial target of one warden per ward is an attempt to bolster what councillors believe are inadequate police numbers.
Members of the council's community safety policy, development and review committee agreed to pursue Government funding for the scheme, which could cost £20,000 per warden.
